Pete & Wendy's Toogoom beach wedding

February 9, 2018 ben commandeur
first photo.jpg

Who doesn't like a beautiful laid back day at the beach? I know Pete and Wendy do, which is the reason they chose Toogoom beach as the setting for their wedding day. They both wanted an easy going afternoon where close family and friends could get together and enjoy each others company.

The ceremony started at 4pm and the sun was beaming down in all its glory, luckily for Peter he had a way to cool himself down by entering the ceremony water skiing. I have documented brides entering their ceremony by horse, but would have to say this is the first time i have documented someone entering James Bond style.

It was a great afternoon celebrating, where the party continued into the night over at Goody's Restaurant on the beach.

Here is a little snippet from the afternoon. Enjoy!

Celebrant: Debbie Marxson

Flower Arrangement: Bay flowers and Gifts

Makeup Artist: Lisa Klein

natalie & Richie blog 8.jpg

On the 6th December I had the privilege of photographing Richard and Natalie’s wedding renewal. They chose the same location where they were married 2 years earlier, and decided to renew their vows as the sun was rising. It was a beautiful morning and the sunrise was absolutely spectacular. It was a very intimate ceremony with only close family by their side.

Thank you both for allowing me to photograph your special day and I look forward to getting you your beautiful portfolio box and canvas.

In the meantime here is a small sneak peak from your day.

Scott & Danielles Hervey Bay destination wedding

hammersley blog 19.jpg

Recently I photographed the wedding of Scott and Danielle who travelled up from Brisbane to have their dream destination wedding on the foreshore of Hervey Bay. Accompanying them were close friends and family who travelled from all over the place to help celebrate this special time.

It was such a beautiful and unique wedding. I loved how they brought their own dream catcher to use as their back drop for their ceremony. They also asked guests to write a note at their reception and attach it to the dreamcatcher, which they will be displaying in their home, such an awesome idea!

Thank you Scott and Danielle for allowing me to photograph your beautiful wedding, you guys are super cruisy and I can’t wait for you both to receive your beautiful wedding album.

Until then here is a tiny snippet

Luke and Amanda's Maleny wedding

luke and amanda single image.jpg

Recently I headed down to Maleny on the Sunshine Coast to photograph the wedding of Luke and Amanda. I first met these guys when I photographed them as a family back when their youngest boy, Samuel, was born. Since then I have gotten to know them both quite well and enjoy the good ‘ol chat with Luke about fishing, much to Amanda’s boredom hehe.

It was a wonderful day celebrated with close family and friends, and although it looked like it was going to bucket down with rain, it held off the entire day. They both got ready at Pomodora’s, which is also where they held the ceremony and reception. If you haven’t checked this place out, do yourself a favour and spend a couple of days there- Super nice place!!

After the ceremony close friends and family stayed on location where drinks were served, along with some awesome lawn games for guests to enjoy.

Luke and Amanda, thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding. Can’t wait for you guys to receive your wedding album.

Here is a snippet from the day. Enjoy

Michael & Nicole blog 13.jpg

We are in the process of catching up on some blogs and are excited to share the Bundaberg wedding of Michael and Nicole.

Michael and Nicole chose the beautiful location of Penny Lane Gardens in Bundaberg for their ceremony and reception. I always love heading up to Bundaberg to photograph weddings, as I love the beautiful scenery. We found some beautiful areas close to where they had their ceremony, and although it was so dry, the brown grass definitely added that extra awesomeness to their photos.

Michael and Nicole it has been awesome getting to know you both and I really enjoyed photographing your special day.

Here is a small sneak peak of your wedding.

Nick & Bree's Hervey Bay Beach Wedding

Nick & Bree wedding blog 23.jpg

Recently I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Nick and Bree, which was celebrated on Hervey Bays beautiful beach, overlooking the iconic Urangan pier.

I have gotten to know this couple quite well over the last year, so to see them both exchange vows on their wedding day was something special. Nick and Bree, in my opinion are the perfect example of “Ying & Yang” and balance each other out perfectly. Bree is a details girl, well organized, and is also quite the perfectionist! Nick has a great sense of humour, is supportive & is just a genuine, down to earth Lad (Also really good at writing heartfelt emotional wedding vows ha)

The Onoprienko's family portraits

Onoprienko Blog 1.jpg

I really love travelling to different locations for family portrait sessions, usually it will be at place that has special meaning to the family, so I loved when Margaret told me she would love to have her family photo shoot up in Childers, at the beautiful Vintner’s secret Vineyard. This place is beautiful and is a special place to Margaret and Jonathan because it is where they decided to get married- since then they have made it a tradition to visit once a year.

Sam & Doug's destination wedding

SAM & DOUG BLOG 15.jpg

A couple of weeks ago I photographed the wedding of Doug and Sam in Urangan, Hervey Bay. Doug and Sam travelled down from Mount Isa and their family came from all over to witness them exchange vows on the beautiful foreshore of Hervey Bay. They have such a down to earth personality and their wedding just seemed to flow perfectly.

Their wedding was unique, with a bridal party of 16. Whilst this could be seen as quite a challenge, everything just seemed to flow so well ( I put it down to a laid back, easy going bridal party:)
